An Original Story

F. Combe, the company founder, worked in the automotive industry, and due to pressure from automakers in the '60s, he decided to start his own business. He then asked his wife what was her favorite product she was using in the kitchen, and her answer was a Frypan. A few days later, he was inspired by the shape of a wheel embellishment to which he added a handle to create his first model. From this idea, Sitram became the first company to use stainless steel for the manufacture of cooking utensils.

Mr. Combe opened the Sitram plant in central France in 1963, Saint Benoit du Sault, for its strategic location and its abundance of labor (region of textile and porcelain). 

Competitive Advantages

Sitram has celebrated 51 years of success and has always pushed for breakthrough technologies. Sitram was the inventor of a new type of enameling coating for cookware: using paint-guns as a tool to color the cookware rather than a traditional dip way, which provides the product with much more durability. Sitram was also the first to launch a pressure cooker bayonet, a new locking system, while competitors used the caliper principle.

In addition to its range of stainless steel and enamel products, Sitram has always had a heart to develop professional product lines in cooperation with specialists. For 30 years, the brand has been the leader of professional equipment in Europe and is one of the last manufacturers of professional cookware that is still produced in France. Note that the charter applied to household products' quality is the same as for professional products, which are characterized by having a greater capacity and are designed to resist temperature for very high and frequent use. Quality and user comfort are the two strengths of all Sitram product lines, whether for domestic or professional users.

Sitram is currently the supplier to all major hotel chains in the world (Accor, Hilton, Sheraton, and Hyatt) as well as the professional distributor Metro.
The brand is working in China with many leaders, including the Association of Disciples of Escoffier. The brand is exhibited every year in main worldwide shows such as the Ambiente in Frankfurt, the International Home & Houswares show in Chicago, the Hotelex and Sial in Shanghai, the Canton fair in Guangzhou and Galec, and the U and Sirha in France.

Sitram has been a manufacturer of high quality stainless steel cookware in Europe for over 51 years. With a workforce of 500 people worldwide and a daily production over 80,000 pieces, Sitram currently fits the needs of both food service professionals and distinguishing home users in more than 70 countries through extended ranges comprising original, high-quality and often prestigious products.

Since its founding in France in the '60s, the head office and decision making center of Saint Benoit du Sault concentrates its knowledge on the manufacturing of pressure cookers, professional ranges and household stainless steel ranges. This enables total coverage of markets through extended ranges comprising original, high quality and prestigious products.

The Sitram group's industrial success is above all the result of exceptional mobilization of its human resources, which are organized around a corporate philosophy based on thoroughness, commonsense and a spirit of enterprise.

In a wish to develop a worldwide strategy, a subsidiary company named Sitram America was created in the USA in 1985. First located in Camarillo, California, the company was transferred on the Eastern coast of the United States in order to better meet the requirements of our American and Canadian customers.

Wholly controlled by the Sitram Group since 2000, Sitram's Shanghai unit specializes in the manufacturing of middle ranges of stainless steel cooking utensils. In order to offer the best services and an even more diverse range of products to its customers, the site is also a control and transit platform for products negotiated on behalf of Sitram France and Sitram Services.

Founded in 2007 in order to reinforce its international development, Sitram Asia is the last born of Sitram Group. This new trading company is dedicated to the Asian markets, especially the Chinese one.
