Bento box variety: Tomato and mozzarella salad

  1. For the tomatoes: remove the stems and cut a small cross into the bottoms. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Plunge the tomatoes into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then let them cool in a pot of ice water
  3. Peel and slice the tomatoes, arrange in the bento box with alternating slices of mozzarella, and season with fleur de sel and some freshly ground pepper
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with basil leaves


  • 300 g (10.6 oz) beefsteak tomatoes
  • 200 g (7 oz) mozzarella cheese
  • 15 cl (3/5 cup) olive oil
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • Fleur de sel
